The winner of the Westfield Garden City Stylist's Apprentice competition was annouced last night at a swanky cocktail 'do at Brisbane's Enoceta restaurant.
Brisbane's most fashionable folk mingled and munched on yummy canapes whilst browsing the three finalists' photo shoots - which they styled themselves using Westfield fashion and acecssories - before the winner was announced in an intimate ceremony.
Alice Waugh was very excited to be announced as the winner of a highly coveted employment contract with Westfield Garden City after impressing judges with her styling know-how and fashion-forward thinking.
A Westfield Garden City initiative to give students a leg up into the inner workings of the fashion industry, the Stylist's Apprentice offers offers a paid position within their styling team.
More than 20 fashion students from Metropolitan South Institute of Tafe (MSIT) took part in the competition where they were given two weeks to submit a five shot styling storyboard addressing a specific theme. The three students who presented the most outstanding storyboards then competed in a high-pressure two-hour time trial challenge where they selected select a rack of the clothes from preferred Westfield Garden City retailers.
The finalists were then be given a model, photographer and professional studio where they had three hours to carry out a fashion shoot and come up with five required shots. After submitting three final images for judging, each finalist attended an interview at Westfield Garden City.
