THE AUSTRALIAN HAIRDRESSING COUNCIL LAUNCHES THEIR FLOOD & CYCLONE RELIEF FUNDRAISER.
The Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) launched their AHC Flood & Cyclone Relief Fundraiser, as part of an ambitious and heart-felt industry response to the recent natural disasters in Northern Queensland and Victoria, Australia.
Individuals and industry alike have demonstrated their ongoing support of the AHC and an incredible roster of hairdressing luminaries, including award winning educators and session stylists have donated their precious time, and respective talents, as part of a landmark silent auction initiative.
The calibre of the AHC silent auction program is impressive and ranges from ‘money can’t buy experiences’, through to exceptional educational opportunities. Highlights include a photoshoot mentoring session with five times Hair Expo Australian Hairdresser of the Year, Shane Henning, backstage styling with Renya Xydis as part of sass & bide’s London Fashion Week show, and the opportunity to assist Robert Lobetta on his new product range campaign shoot in the US, including return flights and accommodation!
Beyond the silent auction experiences highlighted the program reads like an industry ‘who’s who’ and features over twenty top tier hairdressers who have donated their talent and includes; Brad Ngata, Caterina DiBiase, Jayne Wild, Dario Cotroneo and Kenneth Stoddardt, plus many more.
Hairdressing affiliated businesses have also rallied behind the cause with outstanding support demonstrated by Shortcuts, Goldwell, TIGI, Aveda and Hair Expo Australia to name but a few,
" Through the gracious generosity of the country's top hairdressing artists and educators, via a silent auction of their in-demand appearance and performance fees, we hope to raise a substantial sum that can be dispersed specifically to salon owners most in need, to help them back on their feet. Hairdressers very much are the centre of the communities they serve and positive and productive salons not only provide strong employment opportunities but are very important local community spirit ", said Anthony Wynne Hoelscher, AHC Chairman and Co-founder.
" The Australian Hairdressing Council, as the only national not-for-profit body for our industry has a clear responsibility to assist fellow hairdressers in good times and bad. The breathtaking extent of the flood disaster in Queensland and parts of Victoria have placed many salon businesses in jeopardy - not only those that have been directly inundated, but also those serving communities most badly affected aims to raise much needed funds for any hairdressing businesses adversely affected via a landmark silent auction ”, Wynne Hoelscher added.
The silent auction runs until Tuesday 1st of March, 2011. For further information and the full silent auction listing go to: AHC Silent Auction.
