On Tuesday 5th October, Sallie Lambert, of Toni and Guy in South Yarra, was Pivot Point Academy Melbourne's 1000th apprentice to commence training at Pivot Point Academy Melbourne.
Sallie is from Sydney but has relocated to Melbourne. She is employed by Toni and Guy and attends Pivot Point alongside Toni and Guy's full apprentice team.
Sallie’s future goal is to finish her apprenticeship so she can return and complete Certificate IV in Hairdressing and Diploma of Salon Management. Sallie has an enthusiasm for education and quality training and is finding herself at home at the Melbourne Academy.
Sallie’s main educator at the academy is Nikki Duncan. Nikki Duncan began her apprenticeship 17 years ago and went on to become the staff trainer at Toni and Guy in Aberdeen, Scotland for four years. Nikki then made her move to Australia where she has been employed with Pivot Point Academy for nearly 5 years.
Nikki had the following to say about Pivot Point's role in the education andhairdressing industries:
“Pivot Point is the benchmark in education and is always moving forward with their inspirational ideas. We accomodate a wide variety of student from local, international to apprentices that give you a range of students from all cultures and backgrounds. The Academy provides an environment to nurture professional development and assist as facilitators of career advancement. I have a real passion for the industry that I work in and believe that if the team at Pivot Point can produce creative and quality hair designers for the industry, then the future of hairdressing will continue to shine.”
Pivot Point would like to congratulate Sallie on being Pivot Point Academy’s 1000th apprentice and we wish her best of luck as she continues to pursue her dreams. We would also like to extend a thank you to Toni and Guy for their continuing support.
