Eight talented young hair colourists from around Australia were announced on Friday 9th July 2010, as the official finalists of Redken’s National colour competition: Redken Future Color.
Standing out from hundreds of entries received from salons around the country, these eight aspiring and talented hopefuls are set to catapult their careers into the realm of professional hairdressing as they compete head to head for the coveted title.
The Redken Future Color Competition provides young colourists with invaluable exposure and exclusive opportunities to launch their career and a chance to show off their talent as a colourist to the nation.
This competition has given me the greatest opportunity to be creative and work alongside some of the most admired idols in our industry. Winning something like this has really inspired me and my passion. - 2009 Redken Future Color Winner, Natasha Freer, SA.
For the 2010 competition, young colourists were required to submit a look that exhibited their interpretation of this year’s dynamic theme: Biomimicry.
The finalists are now one step closer for the chance to win over $70,000 in prizes, including a trip to New York City during New York Fashion Week and for their winning look featured on the cover of INSTYLE Magazine.
