A fashionable affair

Done and dusted for another year, FASHION CONNECT 2012 was as spectacular as it was successful… (but we didn’t expect anything less really). Attracting a staggering number of Australia’s hottest creatives including designers, photographers, stylists, bloggers and editors Melbourne’s Carlton was abuzz with blazing beauties who kicked up their heels for a fun and fabulously fashionable night.

After months of preparation guests from right across the country were brought together by the unique; eye-catching and avant garde nature of Melbourne fashion all to support a good cause, the Aids Trust of Australia. The good folk over at OC Communications and Events were proud to have collected proceeds for the charity whilst having fun at the same time by bringing a mixture of Fashionstas to network and talk fashion!

The presenter for the show was the beautiful Stephanie Ryan-Smith who looked absolutely avant-garde in a stunning creation by Project Runway Australia Season 3 contestant, Craig Braybrook who welcomed and warmed up the night with the help of the oh so fabulous Drag Queen Mama Crass who drew the Best Dressed Winner Hannah Ubl, who took home a fabulous MAC make-up gift box valued over $1000.

Whilst swanning around sipping on French Martinis (courtesy of Chambord) and feasting on a gourmet selection of delectable canapés and chocolates (courtesy of Mamor Chocolates), 350 style savvy guests were treated to a sensational cabaret performance by the renowned Drag Queen Mama Crass after which DJ Kiti rocked the house playing a mash-up of sweet tunes long into the wee hours of the morning.

The night went off without a hitch and overall was a grand event, born out of hard work and dedication. Big congratulations to Creative Director and producer Oscar Calvo, who nurtured the event right through from its conception to its creation.

We have been fortunate to be able to join forces with The Aids Trust of Australia this year to help raise much needed funds for Australians across the nation living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. OC Communications and Events is proud to have collected proceeds for the charity whilst bringing a mixture of Fashionistas to network and talk FASHION.

We have also been incredibly fortunate to have Stephanie Ryan Smith as our official presenter, our very own DJ Kiti and the fabulous Drag Queen Mama Crass. Thank you.  Your presence at Fashion Connect bought atmosphere and colour to our event.
