CONTRIBUTING TO CULTURE
Can I contribute to culture Magazine and culturemag.com.au?
Yes! culture loves receiving submissions from all creative types across a range of media, and we publish work from all over the world both in the magazine and online. So if you have a story (or a story idea), photographic collection, video or maybe you’re launching something new and exciting and want to get the word out… send it all in for editorial consideration.

How do I get my story featured?
Send your details and a brief to phoebe@culturemag.com.au or give us a call on (+617) 3216 1376, and we’ll talk through possible options. Please be aware that submissions are considered on a bi-monthly basis and published at the sole discretion of culture editorial. If your work is chosen to be featured in an issue or online, you will be contacted by a member of the culture editorial team.
How do I get my photographic collection featured?
If you have a photographic collection you think would look pretty schmick in the Gallery pages of culture Magazine or up on the online Gallery, please send the collection as low res images along with team credit details to artwork@culturemag.com.au. Indicate whether you wish to be considered for print, online or both.
Please be aware that photographic collections are considered on a bi-monthly basis at the sole discretion of culture editorial. If you are submitting a collection for print, please indicate if this is available to culture Magazine as a global exclusive (i.e., it has not been published online or in print by any other media organisation).
If your collection is chosen to be featured in an issue or online, you will be contacted by a member of the culture editorial team. PLEASE NOTE: due to the quantity of submissions received daily here at culture HQ, we apologise in advance if we are not always able to contact you in the event that your submission has not been successful for publication.
How do I get my video onto cultureTV?
If you have a video that you’d like to see online on cultureTV, Education or Fashion, please send the video file along with some information about the clip to online@culturemag.com.au via a FTP site or send in the post on a CD or DVD to PO Box 1212 Toowong, QLD 4066, Australia. What are the best specs to upload images to News Feed?
The best sizes are around 600px by 800px at 72dpi. If your image doesn't fit these specifications, make sure that the longest size is at 800px at 72dpi. What is a cultureBYTE and how do I sign up to receive them?
culture blasts out a regular weekly e-newsletter every Wednesday called cultureBYTE – it’s full of all the happenings, launches, collections and videos from the creative industries. Plus this is where you can stay up-to-date with all the latest from culture Magazine and the new features here on culturemag.com.au.

How can I feature in the weekly cultureBYTE?
Each cultureBYTE is created using a mixture of culture editorial as well as sponsored advertorial. To be considered for culture editorial BYTEs, you just need to contribute to culture Magazine or culturemag.com.au as per the instructions at the top of this page. It says I don’t have access to watch the In Bed With live web chats, how can I watch these?
In Bed With live web chats are exclusive to SUBculture members only. But the good news is, it’s easy to become a SUBculture member! Just click HERE to find out more and to join. Once you’re a member you will receive a SUBculture membership number that will give you access to each In Bed With live web chat.
In the lead up to each In Bed With chat, you will receive an email notification advising you when it will take place. When it comes time for the chat, you simply head to the SUBCULTURE page, then login to the In Bed With screen using your email address and membership number. You’ll be automatically directed to the video screen and chat dialogue box.
How often is In Bed With shown?
In Bed With live web chats are shown six times a year, with a different international guest artist each time. Check the SUBCULTURE page regularly for any updates on who the next In Bed With guest will be along with the date and time. As a SUBculture member, you will receive an email to your inbox to notify you of the next In Bed With live web chat.

I’ve moved house and need to relocate my subscription, how do I do this?
Contact us HERE and include both your previous address details and your new address details. We’ll make sure your information is updated and your magazine is sent to the right place!
Can I call you to find a salon?
We like to think we’re in the know, so we’ll do our best to help you wherever we can! Simply send your question using the form HERE and we will endeavour to answer (or point you in the right direction) within five working days.

You can book a single BYTE in the regular cultureBYTE each Wednesday, or go all out and book your very own exclusive cultureBYTE that features your content only and is blasted out on a day of your choice. Both options are outlined in the current Media Kit HERE.

How can I get a job at culture?
The culture office is all full up right now (yep, full to the brim! If we hired you, you’d have to work under our graphic designer’s desk or amongst the archives). When there is a position available, it will be listed on www.seek.com.au. You can also join our Facebook page HERE to stay in the loop.
Does culture offer work experience or internships?
Yes! From time to time, we have opportunities available for work experience in editorial and graphic design. Please send your resume and details of what kind of experience you’re looking for (and for how long) to hayley@culturemag.com.au.

What is cultureHUB?
cultureHUB is a FREE online social networking community for creatives all over the world. It is profile-based, so you can display all your own work and contact details via image and video uploads to your very own page. cultureHUB allows you to send messages to everyone in the network, comment on each other’s work and connect with industry professionals right across the globe. How do I create my own profile on cultureHUB?
Have you previously had a MYculture login? If so, use the same email address and password to login on the CULTUREHUB page HERE and get busy building your profile!
If you’ve never created an account on culturemag.com.au, click HERE to sign up and choose your password. Once your account has been created, you’re free to build your profile.
How do I update my profile?
You can update your profile by logging in on the CULTUREHUB page HERE by using your email and password. Then click on Edit Profile and the rest is in your hands!
How do I upload an image?
Once you are in the Edit Profile section on the CULTUREHUB page, Click on ADD A NEW COLLECTION. Red squares will then appear that indicate ‘Add New Photo’. Click on one of the red squares and follow the prompts to add a picture.
What is the best image size to upload on cultureHUB?
The best image size is 600px by 800 px. Images should be made web ready and be under 500kb. This will save you time waiting for your image to upload.
How do I upload a video to cultureHUB?
To upload a video to cultureHUB, you need to upload your video on youtube first. Go to www.youtube.com and create an account (if you don’t already have one) and follow the prompts to upload your video. Once your video has been uploaded to youtube, simple copy the URL of the youtube page that your video appears on. Go to the Edit Profile page on CULTUREHUB, click UPLOAD A NEW VIDEO and then paste in the URL to the youtube video section.
How can I find friends on cultureHUB?
On the CULTUREHUB page HERE, you can search for people via their occupation by clicking on the drop down menu. You can also look for someone by name – simply type their name into the search box and hit Search.
