52 is the magic number

We love keeping up with the happenings of everyone in the industry, so we were absolutely thrilled to hear that Simon Crawford from Crawfords Hairdressing is taking his creativity to soaring new heights with the launch of his blog, 52haircuts.

Yes, you read that right! And yes, it is what is sounds! Over the next year Simon will post the process and results of 52 different cuts in 52 weeks. Launched back in January, Simon sees the blog as an opportunity to show his true passion for the power of change. “I wanted a creative outlet and thought it would be a challenge,” Simon reveals. “The opportunity to show people that removing a little bit of hair can have a huge improvement on your appearance.”

Having credited magazine and photography blogs as continuos sources of inspiration, the idea to start up his own didn’t cross his mind until he was offside nursing a fractured arm. Featuring images and videos, the blog captures the entire process; right down to styling and care tips to give readers a chance to experience the change from start to finish. “I don’t know how many times over the last 23 years someone has said to me ‘I love watching someone have a change’. It’s a fascinating thing watching someone else.”

Already 17 cuts in, the project is receiving rave reviews with excitement projected for the year ahead. “I feel it will be a great way to show people the power of change, and being a passionate hairdresser, what better medium than removing hair?”
